Netflix documentary explores the story of an Alabama jailbreak

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) —  A new documentary is hitting Netflix involving an Alabama jailbreak that occurred April 29, 2022.

“Jailbreak: Love on the Run” tells the story of corrections officer, Vicky White, helping violent criminal, Casey White, escape after being faced with a capital murder charge.

Reports say Vicky was scheduled to retire the day she left with Casey.

Inmates inside Lauderdale County Detention Center told investigators that the two has a “special relationship”.

A manhunt ensued for both Casey and Vicky, which ultimately ended in Evansville, Indiana.

Police received a photo of Casey at a car wash in Evansville.

Law enforcement located and closed in on the vehicle, when it overturned.

Officials were able to arrest Casey, however Vicky shot herself.

The trailer for the documentary revealed security footage from inside the jail, along with intensive interviews from several individuals.

Netflix premieres the documentary on their streaming platform Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
