Chattanooga police investigating robbery and related shooting

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Police are investigating a robbery where a victim was also shot by a suspect at a separate location.

Around 7:00 Saturday night, Chattanooga police responded to a robbery in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Brainerd Road.

While officers were headed to the scene, they were told the suspect had drove away and the victim was following separately.

The suspect drove to the 2100 block of South Lyerly Street and ran.

At some point after getting out of the car, the suspect shot at the victim.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 24-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS responded and took the victim to the hospital.
