More relief for Helene victims across Tennessee Valley
SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF)- We are hearing about how the Tennessee Valley is continuing to show support for victims of Hurricane Helene.
The Soddy-Daisy Fire Department has been collecting supplies for the past three days at their main fire hall on Card Road.
They are collecting toiletries, non-perishable food, and water among other needed items.
Hamilton County Commissioner Gene-O Shipley says the turnout has grown exponentially.
“When we started this off of a whim on Sunday we thought we would only need a couple of trailers and some money, and we would head out. It kind of got bigger than us. We are about four trailers and a tractor trailer, and it just keeps coming,” said Commissioner Shipley.
We are continuing to gather a list of organizations taking donations here.
