Dalton Police investigating truck theft
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The Dalton Police Department (DPD) is asking the public to help them identify a man who stole a pickup truck.
The suspect stole the vehicle in the morning hours of September 27, 2024, at 737 Riverbend Road.
DPD reported the victim parked his 2000 red Ford F-150 outside Loa Bakery and went inside the store for
approximately five minutes.
It was also reported the victim left the doors unlocked and keys in the ignition.
While the victim was inside, surveillance footage captured a man walking up to the truck.
The suspect got in the truck and drove off.
After exiting the store to find his truck gone, the victim called the police to report a missing vehicle.
Later that day, the truck was recovered after DPD officers noticed it parked on Glenwood Avenue.
Police are still searching for the suspect who stole the truck.
DPD reported the man to have curly brown hair.
He was wearing a black shirt and khaki pants, while carrying a red backpack.
