Fire Prevention Week
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department hosted its Fire Prevention Week kick-off event today at the East Lake Community Center.
This event was a free event for the community to bring awareness to fire safety and fire prevention.
Activities offered today included food, music, games, giveaways, and even a home fire safety education.
During the week the Chattanooga Fire Department and the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) focused on this year’s designated campaign.
This year’s campaign strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.
During the event, the CFD and NFPA were able to explain the WHY behind the campaign’s key calls to action: INSTALL, TEST, and REPLACE.
Visit the National Fire Prevention Association for more information on fire safety and what you can do to protect yourself, family, and friends.
