Signal Mountain cornhole tournament
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF)- The Signal Mountain Fire and Police Department came together and hosted a cornhole tournament where all proceeds are poured back into the community.
While the Mountain Arts Community Center hosted a celebration of German Heritage for Oktoberfest, the Signal Mountain fire and police department thought this was the perfect time to come together and host a cornhole tournament where funds go straight back into the community.
Both organizers from the Mountain Arts Community Center and the Signal Mountain Fire and Police Department came together to make this festival one to remember.
Tim Loving, Signal Mountain Firefighter says, “It’s really nice seeing folks come out and support the people that serve and protect them, it’s a nice family event, again, there’s food trucks, there’s this cornhole tournament, so it’s a great opportunity to get out and help support those who serve and protect this community and seeing how much the community is behind this and supports us.”
The cost for each team to play was $40 dollars and all proceeds go to support the Signal Mountain Social Service Programs that are used to help local members in need.
Signal Mountain’s Lieutenant Daniel Fletcher helped organize this event and made sure that everyone was ready and lined up to play.
He says, “It’s a great cause, good fun. It’s hosted at the Mac, which also has our Oktober fest, so we do it in conjunction with them where they have a lot of vendors set up. They have a beer wagon, usually food trucks, arts and crafts, just a fun, family event to come out to.”
From live music, friendly competition, and great food, this cornhole tournament was one to remember.
