Freedom Sings USA hosted an Open House Event for Veterans

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Freedom Sings USA hosted an open house in Lookout Valley filled with music, camaraderie, and support for the Veterans. 

This event was hosted to create a great opportunity for Veterans to connect with fellow service members as well as local songwriters, while exploring the benefits of music in day to day living. 

Participants for this event included not only just Veterans and songwriters, but also members across the community.

Songwriting and collaboration have been proven to alleviate the effects of stress and trauma as well as mood modulation, decreasing isolation, stress reduction/relaxation, and meaningful social interaction.

Freedom Sings USA is a non-profit based here in Chattanooga with the mission to help veterans, military personnel, and their families reach emotional balance through the creative process of songwriting and music-arts therapy.

This organization holds weekly ongoing classes on Wednesday mornings and Thursday nights in Chattanooga and sponsors events and group retreats throughout the U.S.
