Chattanooga Police investigating fatal pedestrian crash

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga Police (CPD) are investigating a fatal crash that involved a pedestrian.

CPD responded to the 4700 block of Brainerd Road at 7:59 a.m., October 8, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 63-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

Hamilton County EMS also responded to the scene and transported her to a local hospital.

CPD reported that she later died from her injuries.

CPD’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.

Preliminary information revealed the woman was trying to cross Brainerd Road when she was hit.

The investigation also revealed a 16-year-old male was turning on Brainerd Road in a Chevrolet Cruze when he struck the woman.
