Annual Motorcar Festivals makes it way to Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Hundreds of people came together Friday to enjoy the annual Chattanooga Motorcar Festival.
“It really is one of the best events of the year. I’ve been to a lot of cars ConCours and events like Amelia Island, Arthill Beach, this is one of the best because it is very fan friendly. It is right downtown, right in the middle of Chattanooga,” said Grand Marshal, David Hobbs
The Chattanooga Motorcar Festival has been celebrated in the Scenic City for more than 5 years.
Hobbs says “Car lovers” can expect a host of festivities.
“Well, we have got the grand festival tonight in downtown, and tomorrow night there is the gala ball, which will be fun,’ said Hobbs. “Then, of course, on Sunday, we have the ConCours D’elegance, where the major cars will be on display. There is some pretty cool cars there.”
The three-day festival will also feature laser light shows, a balloon drop, and activities for Children.
Folks will also be able to enjoy The Chattanooga Motorcar Festival Parade on Saturday.
Race Car Driver Lyn St James considers the festival as a special event in Chattanooga.
“It actually started with the help of Jim pace, who is no longer with us, but was a race car driver, and I knew Jim, and so, you know, it has a lot of race cars, and it has a lot of racing heritage, and I’m a race car driver, so I get to come here and enjoy the people, but also enjoy some amazing race cars,” said St. James.
Families are encouraged to enjoy the various offerings at this year’s Festival.
According to St. James, Festival proceeds will also go towards a worthy cause.
“I have gotten to know Brian DeVore, who is the founder of this, and his heart is as big as anything, and I think to be able to be inclusive, have everybody come out and have a good time. We get to come from all over the country as race car drivers and other celebrities. But the reality is, we are really doing this for a good cause, and that is the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation,” St. James concluded.
