Chattanooga Symphony and Opera present Family Concert Series

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Families and members of the Chattanooga community were invited to participate this weekend in free family concerts presented by the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera.

This event was a family concert series that was inspired from classic books we read as kids and even children’s books tailored around Chattanooga itself.

These free performances promised quite the blend of storytelling as well as symphonic music that was uniquely designed for children in their families to provide a valuable opportunity to bring the kids out and about in the community and encourage learning through reading and music.

The Chattanooga Symphony quintet performed a small concert followed by a captivating performance of a fully narrated reading of “The Little Engine That Could” in both English and Spanish.

Everyone in attendance was provided a free copy of “The Little Engine That Could” to encourage at home reading and learning.

The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera continues to host a variety of different programs and events for all ages each month so be sure to check out their website for more information.
