New truck added to Walden’s Ridge Emergency Service fleet

Light Duty Rescue Truck 3 & 4 / Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Two new rescue trucks have been added to the Waldens Ridge Emergency Service (WRES) fleet.

The two new vehicles are Ford F-550’s with 6.7L Turbo diesel trucks.

These trucks were added to the fleet to help enhance the safety of the community.

Light Duty Rescue Truck 3 replaced an older rescue truck.

It will be used to respond to medical, fire, and rescue calls, while housing the following:

  • On-scene solution sliding tray which contains 4 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and 4 spare bottles
  • Fire and EMS equipment
  • Tool compartment with 2 sliding shelves where tools can be mounted vertically
  • Extrication equipment. Long tray pull-out making easy accessibility for firefighters to obtain equipment quickly
  • Portable wrench that can be removed from truck if needed
  • Powered tools and saws

Light Duty Rescue Truck 4 was designed for only wilderness/rescue efforts.

This truck will house the following:

  • 2 titanium stokes baskets with rope and medic bags along with mainline and bay line bags that can be utilized on either side of the truck
  • High-angle rescue hardware and rescue wheel used with stokes basket operations
  • Search and rescue operations with electronics for GPS systems in a weather sealed compartment
  • Backpacks for rescue personnel
  • Portable Warn Zion wench which can be hooked into anyone of the 4 anchor points on all side of the truck

These trucks will be used to respond to all emergencies in their 38.5 square mile district including two State Parks and one National Park.

They can also be used as a Mutual Aid response for the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association.
