ALATAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Sheriff says a string of stolen vehicles has come to an end in Grundy County.

It started with a bizarre call two weeks ago off Highway 50 in Altamont.

Josh Webb said he was kidnapped in Memphis, put in the trunk of a car and driven to Grundy County, where he escaped.

Deputies found the car stuck in the woods, still in reverse, but no Webb.

While they were searching for Webb, the first stolen vehicle happened.

It was a black Tahoe with a loaded firearm.

Deputies found the vehicle, but not the gun a few days later.

Earlier this week, a vehicle was stolen from Monteagle and ditched in Cordell, Georgia.

Yesterday, they found a stolen vehicle from Cordell back in Grundy County.

That’s when another vehicle was stolen from Grundy.

Law enforcement finally caught up with Webb Wednesday night in Paducah, Kentucky.

They say he was running from police in the latest stolen vehicle and he had the weapon from the black Tahoe.

He now faces charges in both Kentucky and Tennessee, and may get more from Georgia.
