Ocoee Middle School to add new school wing for special needs classrooms
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF)- Special needs students at Ocoee Middle School in Cleveland will soon have an exciting addition to their education.
A groundbreaking was held this morning for a new school wing that will contain two classrooms to help enhance the education of students with disabilities.
School leaders say the addition is necessary as the school’s population has grown to 1,200 students due to Cleveland’s growth.
They say this will ensure the school’s ability to serve all students.
Dr. Corey Limburg, the school’s principal, said, “We just want to continue foster a culture of inclusiveness and make sure inclusivity is at the beginning and the end of everything we do as a school and make sure that’s a part of our culture, and so we feel that a new addition like this, space to provide for every student group, is really important.”
The construction is expected to be completed next summer just in time for the 20-25-26 school year.
