Police arrest bank robbery suspect on East 23rd Street

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have charged a man with the attempted robbery of a bank on Thursday.

It happened at the First Horizon Bank on East 23rd Street just before 2 PM.

Police say Raleigh Haney entered the bank wearing a red bandanna over his face and produced what looked like a gun.

He ordered everyone on the ground, but the security guard fired a shot at him.

The shot did not hit the suspect, so he walked up to the guard and told her “I want my money and I will be back.”

He then left, but witnesses followed him to the Chatt Inn, where police found him.
