Georgia Earns a Spot in SEC Championship Game
What a weekend for Georgia.
With all the chaos and upsets in college football Saturday, the Dawgs woke up Sunday morning to learn they had earned a berth in the SEC Championship game. They’ll face the winner of the Texas-TexasA&M game.
Said linebacker Smael Mondon:”I knew it was a possibility. I just didn’t think it was going to happen. I woke up in the middle of the night. I guess I really couldn’t go to sleep. So I got on my phone and saw it.”
Said offensive lineman Dylan Fairchild:”I found out pretty much the same thing as Smael. It means a lot. We are super excited. But we’ve got to take this weekend, and do what we’ve got to do. Can’t eat an elephant all at once. Got to eat it one bite at a time.”
Said head coach Kirby Smart:”Our thoughts are on Georgia Tech. It’s a great honor to go play in the SEC Championship game. Probably one of the greatest events in all of sports because the games that you play in are great match-ups. At this point and time, we don’t even know who that is. Nor do I care. My concern 100 percent is with Georgia Tech.”
Bulldogs close out the regular season by hosting Georgia Tech at 7:30pm. The SEC Championship game is Saturday, December 7th in Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium with the kickoff set for 4pm.
