Public Relations Society of America leaders gather for proclamation day
Dr. Joe Trahan and Joseph Abreu join News 12’s Chip Chapman as they celebrate an honor for the Lookout Chapter of PRSA.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Lookout Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America gathers on Wednesday to celebrate a proclamation and accomplishments the organization has achieved.
Joseph Abreu, the national chair for PRSA, traveled to Chattanooga for the Lookout Chapter meeting to give a year in review of the great accomplishments the organization has done for the community and their clients.
Additionally, Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly will be attending for a proclamation ceremony for Local Public Relations Day.
Abreu says that this dedication helps remind the people that the purpose of a PR professional is that they advocate for them, their employees, and give transparency on certain events or situations.
Lookout Chapter President Dr. Joe Trahan says that PR professionals are social change agents for good with a purpose to help people and the community.
Currently, PRSA has over 25,000 members and is currently accepting new members. It is open for anyone interested in public relations and would like to pursue a career in that field. Additionally, PRSA does have student chapters for any student who wants to get a head start.
