Early morning crashes cause traffic pileup on I-24 Eastbound

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Brace for extra travel time near Interstate 24 in North Georgia.

An early morning crash has caused pileups on I-24 Eastbound at MM 3– this is at the Wildwood exit.

The Dade County Sheriff’s Office says it was caused by an overturned tractor trailer.

At this time, all lanes are closed.

GDOT 511GA reported the crash at 5:22 Tuesday morning.

It’s supposed to end around 8:00.

An additional wreck on I-24 Eastbound at SR 299 is also causing delays.  All lanes are closed as of 7:06 a.m.

This cleanup is projected to end around 10:00 a.m.
