Doordash drivers arrested for porch pirating, charged in multiple counties
MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two individuals are facing charges in McMinn, Bradley, and Hamilton Counties after being involved in porch pirating incidents.
On December 14, 2024, the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to a residence on County Road 7030 on reports of stolen packages.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke to the individual at the residence who says he noticed some missing packages.
After review of his security cameras, a male suspect was observed taking packages and leaving in a maroon/burgundy car being driven by a separate person.
According to MCSO, Sgt. Jason Lee took to social media and noticed a similar suspect for the same type of thefts in Bradley County.
MCSO contacted detectives in Bradley County, who believed to have developed a suspect for both incidents.
They believed the suspect to be living in Riceville.
Detectives were able to develop the case and make contact with suspect Johnathan Witt.
Witt was already in custody at the Bradley County Jail.
The operator of the vehicle at the time of the thefts, Brianna Ervin, Witt’s girlfriend.
Ervin and Witt were operating a Doordash delivery business.
When the two would make deliveries, they would steal packages from the porches.
Ervin was arrested and taken to the Bradley County Jail.
Both are facing related charges to incidents in McMinn, Bradley, and Hamilton Counties.
