CPD investigates homicide at an abandoned apartment complex

 

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened at an abandoned multi-unit complex in the 2600 block of Glenwood Parkway.

Early January 2 at 2:35 A.M., CPD responded to a person shot call at the 2600 block of Glenwood Parkway. The caller said he just shot a man. When the officers arrived, they discovered a 55-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. The shooter was quickly located and detained.

Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene.

CPD’s Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Unit conducted the investigation.

The preliminary investigation shows the suspect and victim were in the abandoned apartment when the suspect shot the victim multiple times. The evidence shows that the suspect stood over the victim and fired at least one round at the victim.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Isaiah Berry and is being charged with First Degree Murder.  He has been arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
