Two repeat offenders arrested on gun and drug charges
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two repeat offenders have been arrested on multiple weapons and drug charges after an operation led by the Chattanooga Police Department’s (CPD) Gun Team.
One of the offenders was out on bond for the following:
- Second Degree Murder
- 14 counts of Auto Burglary
- 5 counts of Firearm Thefts
- 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm during a Violent Felony
- 2 counts of auto theft
- Possession of Fentanyl for resale.
The arrests followed a traffic stop on January 3, 2025, involving a suspect who had evaded police during a prior attempt on New Year’s Eve.
During the stop, investigators discovered a firearm equipped with a machine gun conversion device (MCD), which allows the weapon to function as fully automatic—a modification prohibited under federal law.
Officers also found a scale with narcotic residue, prompting a search warrant for a related residence.
The subsequent search, conducted with assistance from CPD Narcotics and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered additional illegal items, including two more MCDs, a rifle, fentanyl, a device used to duplicate key FOBs, and a tool for breaking into vehicles.
Luke Gladden and Tommetric Reed were taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on multiple weapons and drug charges.
CPD indicates that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
No further details are available at this time as the case remains under active investigation.
