TDOT announces temporary lane closures on US-27 overnight
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Drivers in Hamilton County should prepare for temporary lane closures on US 27 tonight as the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) conducts maintenance work.
From 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. ET, January 29, 2025, TDOT crews will close the US 27 South ramp to Broad Street and the outside lane of the US 27 ramp to I-24 East for attenuator repairs.
According to TDOT, traffic on I-24 East will be unaffected by this closure.
Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area and anticipate potential delays.
Signage will be in place to help guide drivers through the work zone.
The schedule is weather-dependent, and any delays due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled.
TDOT urges drivers to stay informed by checking traffic conditions before heading out.
The TDOT SmartWay Map provides real-time updates on construction activity, and travelers can also call 511 for statewide road conditions.
