New animals hop their way onto Ocoee Riverside Farm
Donna and John Warner bring furry friends for the Ocoee Riverside Farm to invite audiences to visit the farm and experience uniquely rare animal encounters.
BENTON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Right on the Ocoee River, an 30 acre family owned farm filled with over 125 unique animals invites guests to their farm to experience interactive and rare animal encounters.
Throughout the past few months, a lot of hard hitting news has come across people’s lives, which makes it feel more important than ever to take a break from media consumption and slow down like a sloth. Ocoee Riverside Farms offers a place to get away from every day life and offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences right beside the calming rushing waters.
Donna and John Warner highlight some of the unique animals they have on their farm. They offer sloth encounters with both a baby sloth and the world’s most snuggly sloth named Zoey. The encounters are often credited to feel therapeutic as John Warner says, “We find that people mirror sloths. When you hold a sloth, the world just slows down.” Their baby sloth, Dash, is one of their newest additions.
They also have several red kangaroos, some are full grown to their 200 lb weight and some babies can just hop right into your arms. Tom and Jerry are the newest baby kangaroos that are shown in the interview. Soon, the farm will welcome their first baby kangaroo born on the property.
Additionally, they welcomed a fennec fox and armadillo to their farm and will offer encounters for them. Overall, the farm has over 125 unique animals and counting, including traditional farm animals like horses and chickens.
What makes Ocoee Riverside Farm different from a zoo is that the encounters they offer are all interactive and hands-on experiences. Guests can hold them, hug them, socialize with them, and even feed them at the Ocoee Riverside Farm.
These experiences are no longer limited to lodging guests. Anyone can now book an encounter with these exotic animals. It’s a fun family experience that anyone can enjoy. Be sure to check on the requirements and guidelines before booking with smaller children.
Ocoee Riverside Farm also offers eight different lodging accommodations, from a barn, to cabins, to a wagon right beside the Ocoee River. The farm hosts a number of events, including field trips, parties, and weddings. An additional benefit for lodging guests is that they receive a 20% discount on exotic animal encounters.
