Electrical issue sparks Grace Avenue house fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  An electrical issue sparked a house fire Wednesday morning on the east side of Chattanooga.

Crews with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) were dispatched to the 3900 block of Grace Avenue at 6:50 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews saw flames on the back corner of the structure.

According to CFD, the residents were on the front porch, including a handicapped occupant.

Crews were able to safety get them down the front steps, while other firefighters began attacking the shed on the back of the house.

CFD searched the home as a precaution, and no one else was located.

The fire from the shed began spreading to the home, howevers crews were able to stop it before it caused more damage.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire, and checked for any further extension.

No injuries resulted from this incident.
