New Bus Routes added to CARTA

CHATTANOOGA, TN.- CARTA, the public transit system, will be introducing new bus routes in Chattanooga.

They held a public meeting at the Downtown Chattanooga library to receive feedback from the community.

During the meetings, CARTA staff presented the proposed routes and answered any questions that riders may have had.

CARTA believes these new routes will not only benefit many people and also CARTA.

“We struggle with funding and so we have to try to put the best service on the road. We can with the resources that we have and so we’ve done some looking at some of the routes, looking at ridership and some efficiency opportunities and so we’ve come up with the ones that are in the room here that folks are looking at on several of the routes to hopefully save a little bit, but also provide a more consistent and more a simplified service for the riders.” says Doug Carlesion, Director of Transit Planning and Quality .

Those changes will take effect in August, to see more on the changes go to their website to see the new routes.
