Local Puppy Bowl brings wagging tails and forever homes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– It was game day at McKamey Animal Center, where the competition was fierce, but instead of trophies, these four-legged athletes were after something much more valuable: a loving home.

As puppies tumbled and raced around, their tails wagging with excitement, the adoption floor was buzzing with families eager to find their newest member.

Standing in the middle of the action, surrounded by playful pups, Kingston, a cream furred dog had just caught the attention of a potential adopter.

The excitement was palpable as families met their perfect match.

For some, it was love at first sight.

The Goss family shared their heartfelt experience of finding their new furry companion:

“We went inside, and he was outside, and we just fell in love. So if you’re thinking about getting a dog, come on down and see what they have. There are all kinds of dogs here that need a home and love. If they can find a good family, it’s better for everyone.”

Across the adoption center, eager pets of all shapes and sizes were winning hearts. Alison Grolemund, a staff member at McKamey, emphasized just how many different dogs were waiting for their chance at happiness:

“We’ve got everybody. Young puppies, adults, seniors. Small, big, tall, chunky, and every kind of dog you can imagine.”

To make adoptions even more accessible, McKamey Animal Center is waiving all adoption fees this Valentine’s season.

And for one lucky pup named Kingston, the day ended with the ultimate victory, a new family to call his own.
