CPD Chief Addresses Pachyderm Club

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – This afternoon, Chattanooga’s Chief of Police, John Chambers, addressed the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club to discuss progress and ongoing problems.

Chief Chambers has served with the CPD for over 25 years and served as Assistant Police Chief before his unanimous confirmation as Chief of Police in September by the Chattanooga City Council. Chambers was sworn in on October 11th, 2024.

During the meeting, Chambers highlighted the significant progress made under his leadership, including a decrease in citizen complaints against the police department since taking the position.

He also stressed the importance of accountability within the force and creating a supportive environment where officers receive accurate feedback to maintain high standards.

Chambers also reaffirmed his commitment to hiring the best officers to ensure the city’s safety. 

His speech provided valuable insight into his vision for law enforcement and the future of public safety in Chattanooga, showcasing his dedication to making the city a safer place for everyone.
