Beer Board delays ‘The Dream’ punishment for January shootout

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-  A controversial Chattanooga nightclub will have to wait to learn what their punishment will be for a January shooting.

The Dream on Glass Street is facing more violations from the Chattanooga Beer Board after a shootout between an unknown attacker and security guard occurred in their parking lot.

The incident occurred after club representatives said an altercation occurred inside of the club.

Video shows the guard using an assault rifle during the attack, which drew criticism during the previous hearing.

They were also criticized for not calling the police for an hour after the shootout.

The attorney who heard that case recommended a seven day suspension of their beer license.

The Dream previously served a five day suspension for a December shooting.

However, the vote did not occur Thursday as scheduled.

Harolda Bryson, a Chattanooga City Attorney, explained, “I’m trying to determine do we have a quorum issue because two people are going to have to, I think, recuse themselves on this matter, which means we’re only going to have four people, and we won’t have a quorum.”

Five people are needed for any Beer Board vote.

This sentencing has been rescheduled to April 3rd.
