Chattanooga Mocs Win NIT National Championship!

The Chattanooga Mocs are NIT national champs! UTC beat UC Irvine 85-84 in overtime.

It was a tight contest throughout. Trey Bonham hit a three-pointer beyond half-court to give Chattanooga a 38-37 lead at halftime.

UTC would not lead again in the second half until 16 seconds were left, when Honor Huff hit three consecutive free throws to make it 76-74 UTC.

The Anteaters made two free throws on the other end to tie the game with 13 seconds left.

Mocs then had a chance to win it TWICE at the end of  regulation.

Collin Mulholland missed a shot in the paint.

Following a dead-ball timeout, Mullholland then missed a three at the buzzer.

Game went to overtime tied at 76.

With 11 seconds left in overtime, Garrison Keeslar hit a jumper at the foul line to put Chattanooga up 85-84.

Then with two seconds left, Honor Huff went to the foul line, but he missed both free throws. Score stayed 85-84 Chattanooga.

The Anteaters had a shot to win it in the final two seconds, but Jurian Dixon missed a shot at the rim as time expired.

Collin Mulholland and Trey Bonham led the Mocs in scoring with 19 points each.

The Mocs hit 14 three-pointers in the victory.
