Spring into the Carnival at the Northgate mall

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – It’s that time of year again—bright lights, sweet treats, and nonstop fun.

The magic is back in Chattanooga as the annual carnival has officially rolled into town at Northgate Mall!

This year’s event is already drawing in big crowds, excited for the rides, games, and all things delicious.

“I’m so excited,” one attendee shared. “They’re bringing rides, games, and food for the whole family.”

Lauryn Thomas and Bridget Prinkleton, two young carnival enthusiasts, were all smiles as they ran from booth to booth.

“It’s so fun, because you can make a bunch of friends,” she said.

From the Ferris wheel to the spinning chairs, there’s something here to get your heart racing—or leave your stomach doing somersaults.

The annual event promises thrills, laughter, and plenty of moments to remember.

Lori Crenshaw, the carnival manager, says it’s all about bringing joy to the community.

“I really enjoy the people around,” she explained. “I hope they come out and have a good time, enjoy the carnival foods, play the games—just have some family fun on a warm day outside.”

Local visitor Bree Wohlfeil agreed, saying the carnival brings something for everyone.

“I think it’s a great time out here,” she said. “If there’s nothing else anybody’s doing today, it’s something fun to come do—bring your kids, bring your family.”

For some parents, like Payton June, the carnival is a no-brainer.

“It’s just a lot of entertainment,” she said while watching her daughter ride a carousel. “$30 gets you unlimited rides, and admission is free just to hang out—but everything else is cash only, so bring a little extra!”

So whether you’re in it for the fried Oreos, the fast rides, or the flashing lights, there’s no better place to be this spring.

• Unlimited Ride Wristbands: $30 per session
  • Weekend sessions: 12 PM–5 PM or 6 PM–11 PM
  • Weekday sessions: 5 PM–11 PM
• Single Ticket Prices:
  • 1 Ticket: $1.25
  • 22 Tickets: $25
  • 45 Tickets: $50
• Rides typically require 3–5 tickets. All hours, prices, and rides are weather-permitting and subject to change.
