Since the incident, Disterdick has posted bail on a one million dollar bond, and appeared for his arraignment this morning.
However, the money for that bail was not posted by Disterdick himself, who is currently unemployed and lives outside of Hamilton County.
Hamilton County Judge Amanda Dunn said, “The way that the bond statute reads is that I cannot consider the bond if the bond was made by other people in determining whether or not he qualifies for appointed counsel. The bond was posted by family members who took a second mortgage out on their homes to post that bond. So I can’t consider that as part of his financial assets.”
Disterdick was appointed a public defender, and will reappear in court in July.
