Murray County authorities searching for missing elderly man

MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) —  The Murray County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing elderly man.

77-year-old Joe McDowell “Mac” Wiggins Jr. was last seen in the driveway of his residence in Oak Hill Estates on May 17, 2025.

According to MCSO, he was attempting to get a ride to the Dollar General located on Maple Grove Church Road near Highway 225 South.

Joe was last scene wearing a green shirt and grey sweatpants.

He is believed to be diagnosed with dementia and walks in the area on occasion.
