Chattanooga police investigating early morning I-75 traffic fatality

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is investigating a traffic fatality on I-75 early  Monday morning.

At 12:05 a.m., June 2, 2025, police responded to 930 I-75 southbound, just before the Volkswagen exit, for a single vehicle crash.

Preliminary information reveals that a GMC 2500HD was traveling southbound when it left the roadway for unknown reasons.

CPD says the GMC traveled several hundred feet before stopping within the tree line.

Hamilton County EMS declared the driver dead on scene.
