Lights, Camera, Chattanooga Film Fest

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – It’s being called summer camp for movie lovers, and it’s back and bigger than ever.

The 2025 Chattanooga Film Festival is underway, offering a weeklong celebration of strange, stylish, and offbeat cinema.

This year’s fest features a record-breaking lineup with nearly 50 feature films and over 130 short films, making it one of the largest programs in its history.

The in-person festival runs June 20th through the 22nd, while virtual attendees can tune in online through June 28th. We spoke to the organizer about what makes this year unique.

The hybrid format makes room for all kinds of film lovers, from local fans to horror diehards around the nation.

A major highlight is the festival’s signature Red Eye series, late-night secret screenings curated this year in part by actor and horror icon David Dastmalchian. And for the first time, these cult favorite showings are also available to virtual passholders.

Beyond the screenings, there’s a cocktail competition, tattoo giveaways, live podcast tapings, and plenty of quirky surprises that keep people coming back year after year.

Whether you’re watching from a theater seat or your couch, the Chattanooga Film Festival promises a week of weird and wonderful cinema that’s anything but ordinary.
