LaFayette Police Officers Credited with Saving Man From Fire
LaFayette, GA (WDEF) Two local police officers may have saved a man’s life overnight.
It happened at a house fire in LaFayette, Georgia after midnight.
The Walker County Messenger reports that two LaFayette police officers discovered the fire at a home on North Cherokee and Simmons streets.
Corporal Nicholas Terry saw a broken front window and flames inside.
He tried to alert the resident and put it out with a fire extinguisher, but could not get inside.
Patrol Officer Dusty Coker arrived and helped break into the back of the house.
They rescued 47-year old Jeffrey Scott Harris.
He was taken to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
