19-year-old rescued after fall at Pocket Wilderness

DAYTON, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday afternoon, the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Pocket Wilderness after a 19-year-old male was injured in a fall at the Blue Hole.

According to officials, a 911 call came in at 5:07 p.m. stating that the young man had jumped into the water and sustained a shoulder injury.

Firefighters, along with Tennessee State Parks Rangers, responded to 354 Montlake Road and hiked into the woods to reach the victim.

First responders secured the man’s injured shoulder and helped him out of the woods to a waiting Mowbray ATV.

He was then taken to HCEMS personnel around 6:00 p.m. for evaluation and transported to the hospital.
