Full Speed For Owls on First Day of High School Football Practice
Ooltewah, TN-(WDEF) Time for high school football teams to get down to business.
Tennessee teams were allowed to put on the pads on Monday.
And like many schools in the area, Ooltewah tried to beat the heat by practicing in the evening.
No two-a-days for the Owls either.
But they started meetings at four o’clock on Monday afternoon, followed by weight-lifting, and then a two-hour practice session.
And even though it was day one, Owls coach Mac Bryan says he didn’t hold anything back.
"No, it was a full test. We’re running everything we do. They have to know it all. The ones who have paid the price this summer do. It’s just a problem now they have shoulder pads on. There’s going to be a little bit of contact here and there. Sometimes that makes the thinking process a little tougher."
