Administrative Staffing Shortages Impact Doctor’s Offices, Report Finds

Have you noticed longer wait times at your doctor’s office or fewer people working the front desk? You’re not alone. A new report from Edge Health shows the problem isn’t just about doctors and nurses—it’s also an administrative staffing crisis quietly affecting patients and providers alike.

Researchers found that many offices are struggling to keep up with the increasing administrative demands of healthcare, from patient check-ins to billing and compliance requirements. Remote global teams, however, can be hired faster, help reduce costs, and get patients processed more efficiently.

Dr. Rihan Javid, Founder of Edge Health, explains:
“I think that it’s really hard to find… there’s a lot of smaller offices… 24 years… but then technology requirements, there’s a lot more like Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Instead of having two or three people in the office, I can do like four or five.”

With flu season approaching, healthcare professionals say addressing these staffing gaps is more important than ever to ensure patients receive timely care and offices can operate smoothly.
