Hamilton County kindergarteners to get free passes to Creative Discovery Museum for third straight year
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Kindergarten students across Hamilton County will once again be able to go to the Creative Discovery Museum.
This is through a partnership between the county and the museum for the third straight year, and announced at East Side Elementary.
The passes are given to each kindergarten student which allows them and up to three other people to visit the museum for free.
Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp says the program was born out of the realization that many families across the county would not be able to afford tickets otherwise.
Mayor Wamp said, “We thought this would be a really fun time for families to get together and spend some time together. Instead of you guys being in front of a screen, which we as parents have some misgivings about, you can hang out with your brothers and sisters and parents or grandparents and spend some time at one of the coolest places in Chattanooga.”
The passes will be handed out to students by their teachers.
