Officer’s vehicle hit by dump truck in Fort Oglethorpe

FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia (WDEF) – A Walker County officer was injured in a crash Monday morning in Fort Oglethorpe.

It happened on Battlefield Parkway near the Steak ‘n Shake and Chick-fil-a around 8 AM.

The sheriff says Social Security Officer Richard Williams got into a collision with a dump truck.

Georgia State Troopers say Williams suffered a medical episode.

His vehicle entered the intersection at Fant Drive and was hit by a dump truck on the driver’s side door.

Sheriff Wilson says Williams was transported to the hospital and treated.
