Veteran Releases New Children’s Book

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A Chattanooga veteran is using storytelling to inspire reflection and hope in children and adults alike.

“Magron’s Quest,” written by Navy veteran and local creative leader Anthony M. Wiley Jr., officially launched today with a community book signing and celebration.

The project was funded through the ArtsBuild Veterans Grant, a program that elevates local veterans who use the arts to share their experiences.

The illustrated book follows Magron, a small caterpillar learning to transform.

While the artwork and rhyming style make it accessible for young readers, Wiley says the story reaches far beyond childhood.

“This book is for anyone who has ever needed to heal or start again,” Wiley said at today’s event.

“We all experience change. We all grow.”

Wiley says his experiences as a veteran, father, and community leader shaped the book’s themes.

He hopes it brings comfort, encouragement, and connection to families who read it together.

Copies of “Magron’s Quest” are now available through local distribution and upcoming community literacy events.

Wiley is also available for classroom readings, interviews, and community discussions.
