Marjorie Taylor Greene resigning from congress
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, (WDEF) — Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is steeping down from Congress.
The congresswomen posted on X saying that she will be stepping down in January.
In her post to X she cited many reasons for her departure from the hill. One being the what she called the “political industrial complex of both parties” which she believes is destroying the country.
Greene has been vocal about her concerns with the President over the Epstein Files and the government shutdown. The President called her a “traitor” and “wacky” and promised to support a challenger to Greene in her reelection.
“I have too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms. And in turn, be expected to defend the President against impeachment after he hatefully dumped tens of millions of dollars against me and tried to destroy me.”
In her over 10 minute explanation Greene said she has “always been despised in Washington, D.C.” and that she felt she never fit in.
