Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors hosts Christmas event in Miller Park
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – With Christmas just a few days away, families gathered in downtown Chattanooga for a festive holiday celebration filled with cheer, characters, and seasonal fun.
“I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” Santa Claus said. “Ho-ho-ho. Merry Christmas.”
The family Christmas event was hosted by Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors at Miller Park, bringing holiday spirit to the heart of the city.
One special guest even traveled all the way from Whoville to spread Christmas cheer.
“So, me and Mr. Grinch were invited to come here and spread some more holiday cheer,” Cindy Lou Who said. “Mr. Grinch is still decorating because he waited until the last minute, so I thought I would come with Santa and his elves to say hello to everyone before Christmas.”
The event featured story time, hot chocolate, and visits from Santa’s elves, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families enjoying the holiday season together.
“Just have the best Christmas and the merriest time with all of your friends and family,” Cindy Lou Who said. “Be sure to soak up all of those memories together.”
Santa’s elves, Sprinkles and Gumdrops, chimed in with smiles and excitement, agreeing that the holiday spirit was alive and well throughout the park.
Santa Claus also spent time taking photos with children and shared an important reminder for those hoping to stay on the nice list.
“You need to be good,” Santa said. “Make your bed, pick up your toys, and eat your vegetables. Most of all, mind your parents, because that is what keeps you on the nice list.”
Organizers say the event was another successful family celebration, bringing joy and togetherness to the community.
As the holiday season continues, Santa had one final message for everyone celebrating.
“Merry Christmas to all,” he said, “and have a wonderful holiday season with the people you love.”
