McMinn County Sheriff’s Office Offering Sober Rides on NYE

MCMINN COUNTY — The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office is offering sober rides for those who are unable to drive home or who can not find a ride after drinking on New Year’s Eve.

They say those needing the service can call McMinn County 911 Dispatch at 423-745-3222 and make their request.

The following rules will apply to those needing service:

1. Persons using Sober Rides must be in McMinn Co and going to a location in McMinn Co.

2. Persons will only be transported to a residence or hotel room they are authorized to be at.

3 No person will be transported to a party. This is a ride home only.

4. No alcohol, weapons, or any other unlawful or prohibited items will be allowed in any MCSO vehicle.

5. This service begins at 10pm and ends at 4am.

6. There is no charge for this service.
