Alabama lawmaker pitches accepting digital driver’s license
MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WDEF) – Would you rather carry your driver’s license on your phone instead of your wallet?
An Alabama lawmaker is proposing such a thing.
Ontario Tillman’s bill would give you the option of carrying a digital license instead of a physical one.
It would require police to accept the digital license if they stop you.
You would not be able to use it for voter identification.
More than 20 states now allow the licenses including Georgia.
