Mayor Wamp promotes safety improvements for Hunter and Snow Hill Roads
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee (WDEF) – Mayor Wamp’s office is reminding us of what the county is already doing to improves safety on Hunter and Snow Hill roads.
Last year, they conducted a study of the problem areas.
As a result, they are working on the following improvements:
● Widening white edge lines from four to six inches on major county roads to improve driver visibility
● Adding centerline reflectors, wider edge lines, and driver feedback signs
● Installing larger, more visible roadway signage
● Installing high-visibility guardrail markers
● Making targeted lane adjustments in high-risk areas to improve visibility and sight distance
The improvements should happen over the next couple of years.
“With increasing demands on county roads, we have a responsibility to be deliberate about where and how we
invest in our infrastructure,” said Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp. “We are using this safety audit to
address real safety concerns on heavily traveled county roads and ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly.”
