Governor Declares Monday Dolly Parton Day to celebrate her 80th birthday
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Governor Bill Lee has declared Monday at Dolly Parton Day in Tennessee.
That will be her 80th birthday.
The Governor’s proclamation says her “life and career is woven into Tennessee’s music, culture, and rich history.”
The Grand Ole Opry will honor her birthday this weekend for the fourth year in a row.
Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill and Rhonda Vincent will perform.
But Dolly, herself, will not be there.
She is not making public appearances this year.
But she is releasing a new version of her song “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” with Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah and Lainey Wilson to mark the occasion.
