Intense Day Of Questioning At The Thomas Blevins Trial

RINGGOLD, GA, (WDEF)-Blevins remained calm and collected as his former principal and colleagues were asked time and time again about text messages he is alleged to have sent to young girls while a band director at Lake View Middle School.

Principal McClure recounted for a tense courtroom how the Monday after Thanksgiving in 2012 he received two complaints from parents about Thomas Blevins texting their teenage daughters.

Just a few weeks after that in early December Lake View Middle counselor Margaret Overton told the jury how an 11th grader explained to her that Blevins had acted inappropriately towards her school friend.

The friend’s mother was called and investigators brought in.

The same lead detective explained in Court Wednesday how the victim was brought for questioning to the Child’s Advocacy Center that very evening after school.

He told the jury of 8 women and 4 men that the victim was in distress and was forensically interviewed by Rachel Brown of the Advocacy Center near Hutcheson Medical Center.

The video of that interview will be shown to the jury Thursday.

The trial is set to resume at Catoosa County Courthouse at 9 a.m.
