Chattanooga Area Food Bank Calls for Volunteers
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is asking for more volunteers to help meet growing community needs.
Extra hands are needed at several locations, including Foxwood, the Amnicola warehouse, and Dalton. Volunteer shifts typically last three to four hours, and each hour of service helps provide up to 40 meals for families in need.
Shannon Moore with the Food Bank says volunteers are vital to day-to-day operations. “We have volunteers who help in the warehouse, packing and bagging rice, dry goods, and pork. There are so many tasks that our operations depend on, and consistent volunteers are important year-round,” Moore said.
The Food Bank encourages individuals, groups, and businesses to get involved now to help keep shelves stocked and meals moving to the community.
