One dead after Officer Involved Shooting
MOUNT JULIET, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating the circumstances leading to a homicide, an attempted homicide, and an officer-involved shooting, Saturday morning in Mount Juliet.
According to the TBI, on Friday around 9:30 p.m., officers with the Mount Juliet Police Department responded to the 9000 block of Saundersville Road after receiving information about a person threatening others.
They say officers found a man who had been shot.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers say they have found the subject who is believed to have fired the shots and contained him to a specific area.
TBI says shortly before 1:00 on Saturday morning, due to the subject firing at officers, multiple officers returned fire striking the subject.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police discovered a second victim that had been shot by the subject and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers involved were injured.
