CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We received an update on a pair of wastewater projects in Chattanooga.

Mark Heinzer, who oversees the city’s wastewater department, says that the project to upgrade the Moccasin Bend wastewater facility has fallen slightly behind schedule.

This project would upgrade both the processing of biosolids and wastewater, by bringing in technology to improve that process.

However, Heinzer told the Industrial Development Board that they are still evaluating their options, as they have not started the design or budgeting phase of that project.

He said, “That project is very early in this phase. So right now we’ve just completed the basis of design report. In the fall we went through the analysis of alternatives. We selected some alternatives to take to that next phase of development of design.”

He also stated the storage tanks that are being built off of I-75 to improve stormwater management are over halfway completed.

Those are expected to be completed by summer of next year.
